The quick and safe removal of surface water is essential to any motor sport, from F1 to Moto GP. ACO has supplied water management systems to 11 Grand Prix circuits around the world, including iconic tracks such as Monza, the Nurburgring and the Circuit de Cataluña.

Whether it is with the security of monocast polymer concrete channels installed on track, or the aesthetic threshold products required for the paddock hospitality areas, ACO has the drainage solutions for motor racing.

Tracks and pitlanes

On-track channels need to deliver ultimate security and ACO are experts in the design and provision of monocast polymer concrete channels, such as ACO RoadDrain, which provides a safer alternative to concrete channels with bolted steel gratings.

ACO Qmax is a unique high-attenuation slot drainage product that has been installed on the F1 Austin Texas circuit. Together with ACO RoadDrain and ACO H-Range, its F 900 load class capability means it can withstand the intense downforces experienced on motor sport circuits.

Paddocks

Drainage channels in the paddock may need fast-access gratings to accommodate A/V cables during big race weekends. They must, however, also be robust enough to withstand the heavy loading forces of HGVs, trailers, mobile headquarters, and the rest of a race team’s entourage.

The S range, used at the Nurburgring and the Sepang Grand Prix Track in Malaysia, is an interconnecting heavy-duty channel surface water drainage system that is equipped with a cast iron edge rail, heavy-duty grating and eight bolts per metre. It offers outstanding safety capabilities, specifically the security against any component loosening and becoming a danger to competitors.

Motor racing and corporate hospitality go hand in hand and there is often a need for a more aesthetically-pleasing drainage system for the public areas. For the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez circuit in Mexico, ACO provided wide-ranging help and technical support, along with its Brickslot solutions, for the paddock area.
