  • Vienite Polymer channel
  • No fixing bolts / locking bolts on the grate

Then you’ve got ACO RainDrain A15 installed.

If you’d like to remove the grate for:

You can do this with a coat hanger. *please also wear relevant safety equipment, gloves are recommended

Lifting the grate

Ensure nothing is resting on top of the grate.

Insert the loop of the coat hanger in one end if the grate.

Lift the grate.

Replacing the grate

To replace the grate, just lay it back in place, and press back in.

What's the difference between ACO RainDrain and ACO RainDrain B 125

ACO RainDrain as shown on this page with a galvanised steel grate meets the A 15 Load Class.

ACO RainDrain B 125 has the some vienite polymer concrete channel body, however it comes with a cast iron grate. This assembly will meet the higher B 125 Load Class.

Please see the pdf brochure downloads in the column to the right of this page if you want to find out more about load classes and typical applications per load class

If you have ACO RainDrain installed, and want to upgrade it to ACO RainDrain B 125, you can! please see the videos below.

One point to note, if changing the grate of your RainDrain channel from galvanised steel to cast iron, that the cast iron grates can sit a little higher. However if the channel was properly installed following ACO installation details, even with the slight increase in height it should still finish lower than it's surrounding surface.
