BALI drainage webinar series in association with ACO

ACO was honoured to be invited by British Institute of Landscape Industries (BALI) to support a collection of webinars for its members on key drainage topics.

The first webinar “Demystifying Drainage” was held in November 2020 and included:

This webinar explored the importance of good drainage within soft and hard landscape environments, including patios and paths, podium/roof gardens and swimming pools, as well as different soil types, soakaways, ditches, driveways, lawns and rain gardens… ACO’s extensive experience of more than 35 years allows us to help you create the right finish. It covered the wide range of water management solutions that are available to ensure the perfect finish whatever the site or location. Delivered understanding, to help recommend the right products and apply regular maintenance schedules to ensure long term resilience.

The second webinar “No Drain, No Gain” was held in January 2021 and included:

The purpose of this webinar was to run through some basics of drainage that designers should understand when designing gardens.

Where water goes in a garden is critical to your design working. Having an understanding of what you can and can’t do and to communicate this on your plans will make for a better and seamless build.

Award-winning garden designer and BALI Registered member, Rosemary Coldstream MBALI MSGD, hosted accompanied by multi-award-winning landscaping specialist and managing director of Landform Consultants, Mark Gregory. Rosemary and Mark were joined by the team from ACO, who together, provided an insight into drainage from a designer, contractor and supplier/manufacturer perspective.

The third webinar “The art of SuDS” was held in March 2021 and included:

Drainage systems help improve our places and spaces by carefully balancing the opportunities and challenges faced by urban design and local communities. From managing surface water to biodiversity, water quality and quantity to amenity. We covered detailed examples, technical illustrations and case studies to provide answers to some popular questions around SuDS.

For many, SUDS provide minimal disruption or damage to the environment, and, through a sequence of management best practices, control structures and strategies, they help minimise pollution and improve overall water quality.

If you’re a BALI registered member and would like a copy of any of these webinars please contact the BALI team at landscape house.

Non-BALI registered individuals who would like a copy of any of these webinars you can also request these from the BALI team at landscape house, however there may be a small charge.
